Eli has been growing like crazy. Yesterday was her 2-week check-up and she was 8.5 lbs, comfortably over her birth weight. That means she put on about 2 oz a day (the average weight gain for breastfed babies at this age is 1 oz a day), the equivalent of 2 tablespoons of butter every day for the past week! Also, she was 21.5 inches long, which means she's grown a full inch since she was born. The length measurement is so inaccurate, we don't really know how much she's grown, though. Being longer would explain why she doesn't look as chubby as she did when she was born even though she weighs more now. Also, she's still sleeping a lot, probably tired from all that growing.

Oli has turned into a contrarian. He always says he's not hungry at mealtimes, fights his naps and bedtimes, and changes the names of his toys. At least he's still fine with the baby. He likes to ask what she's doing (sleeping or nursing) and if she can talk yet.
