Eli: 4 weeks

We had deja vu yesterday as Eli turned 4 weeks old and we took her to the hospital.  With Oli, we had a scare in the middle of the night when he turned 4 weeks old and took him to the ER but luckily it was nothing.  Nothing dramatic happened with Eli, just that the pediatrician said we should get her sacral dimple (a.k.a. butt dimple) checked out by ultrasound to make sure there was nothing wrong with her spine.  Anyway, everything is fine with Eli too.

Eli at 4 weeks: 9.5 lbs, 22 inches, another tall and skinny kid.  I'll gladly be the only shorty in the family.  Also, it turns out her baby acne is not actually baby acne, it is seborrheic dermatitis (cradle cap) on her face.  Oli also had cradle cap, but only on his scalp, where it wasn't as obvious.

We gave Eli her first bath today.  With Oli we couldn't wait to give him a bath as soon as his umbilical cord stump fell off.  Eli's stump fell off a couple of weeks ago, but we've been too lazy to give her more than just sponge baths.  She was getting a little smelly and pretty linty under the armpits, so we decided it was time for her first real bath.  Poor Eli, already being neglected as a second child.
