TWO (Tantrums With Oli)

Is this the beginning of the Terrible Twos?  Oli frequently wakes up grumpy in the mornings or from his naps, but we can usually distract him with reading a book, one of his favorite activities.  Today, however, Oli had two major meltdowns over really nothing in particular.  This morning, he cried inconsolably, complaining about wanting to read sitting up (he was lying down and refused to sit up), or wanting milk in his cereal (there was already milk in his cereal).  He kept this going for 40 minutes, until Jorge drew pictures of Oli crying.  For some reason, this jolted him out of his funk.  Maybe he was stunned by how well his Papi captured his likeness.

Oli also had his two-year checkup this week.  The stats:

Height (length, really, since they measured him lying down): 36 inches, 90th percentile.  I have my doubts about this because we've measured him at 35 inches standing at home.  But that still would still put him at around 70th percentile.

Weight: 27 lbs, 6.5 oz, about 25th percentile.  Oli lost some weight this week because he got a stomach virus that resulted in some vomiting and not much eating.  He's fully recovered now, and eating with gusto.  The pediatrician said it wasn't necessary to switch him to low-fat dairy products (which is a recommendation of the American Association of Pediatricians for children 2 and up) because he's skinny for his height (height to weight ratio is 10th percentile -- tall & skinny).

Head circumference: 19 inches.  Slightly below average, but his head looks tiny when he's hanging out with his cousins!
