Oli did something this evening that really amazed us. Sometimes it's the little things that get to you. Usually, whenever Oli sees you drinking something, he wants to drink it too. So, today as we were wrapping up dinner Mami figured that to get him to drink his prune juice (it helps with the constipation that comes with the iron supplements), she would pretend it was her drink. So she brought it over in a cup and pretended to drink from it away from him. Sure enough, he started asking to drink it too, and he drank some. Then Mami took it back, and when Papi asked to drink some too, she (for fun) pretended not to let Papi have any. Then Oli asked for the cup again, but this time instead of drinking from it, he took the cup and offered it to Papi! What a sweet kid!
This month, Oli's PoPo and CunCun came to visit for two weeks. Thank you for all the cooked meals, taking care of Oli when his parents were too tired and when Victoria was out of town! Oli had a great time with his grandparents and was asking for you after you left. And for a short while, he had both sets of grandparents visiting at the same time!
Oli's verbal skills are really impressing everyone. We lost count at about 70 words he knows. We like to think it's all in his genes, but I'm sure that Victoria deserves all of the credit. Here he is at a bath-time "lightning quiz":
Ok, he didn't quite get ALL of them, but I think he earns a solid "B" (as in "Boy that's pretty good for a 17 month old!").
