Today, we are 20 weeks along and about half-way through the pregnancy. The doctor estimated that Moochie weighed about 12 ounces on Wednesday, which is slightly ahead of schedule, but not by much.
We went to check out strollers and infant car seats yesterday. An infant car seat is the only piece of baby equipment you are required by law to have. They won't let you leave the hospital without a car seat, even if you're walking home. It was discouraging that there are so many choices, ranging in price from around $100 to $1000, and none of them seemed to work for both of us. Some felt flimsy, some were too heavy, others had too many straps to fiddle with, most were too complicated to fold or unfold. Some were pretty, some were ugly. Strollers and car seats gave Suelika a headache.
Hooking up the infant car seat to the stroller just seems like too much trouble, so Suelika has decided that she will leave the infant car seat in the car and not bother with the stroller until the baby is ready for the toddler seat. Jorge will have to carry the baby around in a baby Bjorn until then, which could be 6 to 9 months. Seems fair after a 9-month pregnancy, no? :)

Think it will be longer, toddler seats are recommended for +1 yr. or > 30 lbs. How about a convertible car seat and carrying baby chair?
For the Moochie first visit to Panama, you won't have to worry about bringing a car seat. Chaby is leaving Karina's seat and we have the toddler seat (for later).
Maxi-Cosi we thought is nice and sturdy.
We also prefer the Ergobaby (http://www.ergobabycarrier.com/) once they are heavier, although the downside is that they cannot face forward.
